James R Gerlack

James Richard Gerlack, 83, of Vancouver, Washington passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 6th of 2020. James is survived by his children Trina, Paul, Mary, Deanna, Tracy, Troy and Cory. Daughter in laws Kristi, Kim, and son in law Ashley. He was also a Grandfather to twenty-one grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Marie, his son James Paul, and his son-in-law Louis. James and his wife Ellen were married shortly after his return home from the Army and were together for 37 years before her passing. James was known for his love of all sports. He spent many years bowling and coaching baseball. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting with his boys and the annual campout at Country Fest. He would spend any spare time that he had doing carvings and woodworking. His family also knew his love for a good game of poker, story-telling and socializing with friends.
