James Clyde Gonzales

July 25th, 1940 - January 27th, 2024

James (Jim) Clyde Gonzales, Denver, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Jim was born July 25, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, to parents Gregorio and Helen (Valdez) Gonzales. He was one of 8 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Virginia (Stetson), Andrew Gonzales, Marsha (Archuleta), and Mattie (Martinez). His surviving siblings are Emily (Loggan), Raymond and (Hilda) Gonzales, Nancy Miera, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Priscilla Rose (Aguilar) Gonzales, “the love of his life”. They went through life’s adventures together and have known each other since their early teens. They have 3 children, Dennis Vincent, Michelle and (Vance Kinney), Monique (Halterman) and 5 grandchildren: Jeffery Kinney, James and (Melody) Halterman, Kasia Vincent, Cheyanne (Kinney) and (Daniel) Kramarevsky, and Christopher Frazier. He was devoted to his family and loved them all very much. Jim joined the Navy in June of 1958, just one month shy of his 18th birthday, and served a total of 6 years. During that time, he was stationed in many places, such as, California, Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He went on to receive his Real Estate license and worked as a real estate broker, agent and appraiser. He also worked in sheet metal prior to that and was a jack-of-all-trades. He knew how to fix and build many things around the home. He was a very private person, but also had a hilarious sense of humor side. He always made us laugh with many jokes and stories. He played guitar, loved watching movie classics and football, especially the Broncos. He also liked history and old photos and of course, when he was feeling better, loved to go fishing. A Military Honors Committal Service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80235. Please meet at Staging Area "C" no later than 10:45am.
