James Ellison Honeycutt, Sr., fondly known as Jim or Jimmy, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away Saturday morning, March 16, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center. He was born to Rob Roy and Mary Honeycutt, on January 11, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina. Jim held many titles in his life, from drag racer to business owner and a member of the US Coast Guard from 1968 to 1970, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children, Jim Jr. and Stacy and especially his beloved poodle, Winnie. Jim is survived by his wife, Doris and two children, James Honeycutt, Jr. (Tammy) and Stacy Bevel (Julian). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Colin Honeycutt, Britany Bevel, Brianne Bevel and Bristal Bevel; his sisters, Patti Honeycutt, Elizabeth Honeycutt; and brother, Sam Honeycutt. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Rob Roy and Mary Honeycutt and brothers, Rob Roy Honeycutt, Jr. and Tom Honeycutt. Jim’s family will host a visitation on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073.
