James Charles Jehle

James Charles Jehle, 85, of Englewood, FL passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his residence with his devoted wife by his side. James was born on October 17, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles and Anna Jehle. Mr. Jehle served as a Captain in the US Air Force. He retired from Grumman Aerospace after 30(+) years as an administrator. He has been a resident of Florida since 1994 coming from Shoreham Long Island, NY where he was the Mayor of Shoreham. He attended St. Mark's Church in Venice, FL and enjoyed playing tennis, sailing and sculpting. He is survived by his wife Helga; daughter: Helga (Steve) Feden of Charlottesville, VA; sons: Craig (Peg) Jehle of St. Albans, VT; Derek (Michele) Jehle of Englewood, FL; sister: Joan Hichborn of Venice, FL; brother: Stephen (Barbara) Jehle of Wading River Long Island, NY; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A private Graveside Service will be held at Sarasota National VA Cemetery at a later date.
