JAMES FRANCIS KURPINSKY 1919 - 2012 Resident of Pleasant Hill On October 22, 2012, Jim went to be with our Lord and his beloved wife Beatrice. A resident of Pleasant Hill, he was a native of San Francisco, born March 9, 1919 to Frank and Ann Kurpinsky. Jim was the loving husband of the late Beatrice M. Kurpinsky (Karp), the love of his life. They married September 13, 1941 and enjoyed a loving life together for 61 years until her passing in 2003. During WWII, Jim served in the Army for 4 years in the Asiatic Pacific as a rifle marksman. Upon his discharge, Jim and Bee began raising their 8 children in San Francisco. He was a member of the Bottler's Union and worked in various breweries in San Francisco. Jim was a devout Catholic whose faith was the center of his life. God blessed Jim with a beautiful singing voice. He became a member of the choirs of St. Anthony Catholic Church in San Francisco, and All Hallows Catholic Church in San Francisco. A few years after moving to Contra Costa County in 1977, he became a parishioner of Christ The King Church in Pleasant Hill, again sharing his voice with the choir. Ever since, we've had a special relationship with our military families and we are proud to be certified as Veterans Funeral Specialists....
