James Lindsey

“James (Jim) W. Lindsey, of Denver, CO (formerly of Clinton, IL), peacefully passed away on February 16, 2013. He was born on January 3, 1939, in Bloomington, IL to Tom and Ruby Barnes Lindsey. He married Edith Gardner on January 10, 1959, in Clinton, IL. Jim retired in 1996 as a Sergeant for the Denver Police Department after 33 years of service. In his retirement, he was an over-the-road truck driver. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling — anything that gave him an excuse to go to the mountains he loved — also cruises and road trips. Surviving are his wife, Edie, sons David and Darin (Kristy) Lindsey, both of Denver, and daughter, Nicole Proctor, also of Denver, grandchildren Chelsea Proctor, Tara and T. J. Lindsey, all of Denver, sisters Mary Jane West, Decatur IL, Susan (Jim) Winther, Williamsburg, VA and brother Steve Lindsey, Springfield, MO. His parents preceded him in death. Services will be held at Brentwood United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Brentwood United Methodist Church, Cancer Research Institute, One Exchange Plaza, 55 Broadway, Suite 1802, NY, NY 10006, or God’s Littlest Angels (my cousin’s orphanage in Haiti).
