James Masters
October 8th, 1934 - February 7th, 2016
James Ellis "Sonny” Masters, passed away at NCMC on February 7, 2016 at age 81. Jim was born October 8, in Anderson, Missouri to Walter Wilbur Masters and Nellie Adeline Thrutchley-Masters. He was the 2nd of 12 children. He worked as a farmer with his Dad most of his younger years. He worked at B & B Used Cars in Milliken, CO for several years. He also volunteered at the Lighthouse Mission Church at Hill N Park in Greeley, CO taking donations, handing out food boxes and doing repairs. He loved his pastor, Chris Watson and his wife, Colleen and 2 boys; lastly he loved and volunteered at the Senior Center at Hill N Park where his job was making coffee and other things as needed. He lived at home with his parents until their deaths and has lived alone since 1996 until the time of his death. Jim was an avid Broncos fan and was looking forward to Super bowl 50 but unfortunately did not get to see it. He was a big fan of country music and loved his boots, cowboy hats and belts. He loved classic cars and tractors. He is survived by his best friend/girlfriend of many years, Barbara Sober, of Greeley, 1 brother, John (Nancy) Masters of Johnstown, 6 sisters, Dorothy (Frank) Morris of Greeley, Loretta (Dale) LaSart of Windsor, Marcella "Jean" (George) Leinweber of Greeley, Peggy (Dick) Wulf of Loveland, Vivian (John) Wooster of Greeley and Brenda (Thom) Webb of Windsor, 2 sister in laws, Peggy Masters and Barbara Masters both of Greeley. He is also survived by one Uncle and Aunt, James and Barbara Rearrick of Anderson, Missouri. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie Masters, 3 brothers, Wallace Ray (who died as an infant), Jerry and David Masters and one sister, Evelyn Carol Chick. A Memorial Service will be held on February 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Christ Community Church in Greeley. Please leave your condolences for the family at www.ncccremation.com
