James "Jim" Roland Matteri

November 14th, 1928 - September 25th, 2012

James “Jim” R. Matteri passed away peacefully in his sleep September 25, 2012 at his ranch in Danner, Oregon. Jim Matteri was born November 14, 1928 in California to Roland and Emma Matteri. He grew up on a dairy farm in Bloomfield, California with his parents, sister Jeanne Tognozzi and his brother Robert Matteri. He attended school in Bloomfield, California where he eventually met and married Ellen Welch. In 1962 they bought a cattle ranch in Danner, Oregon. They had three children, James R. Matteri Jr. and wife Mickie, Kenneth Matteri, both of Danner, Catherine L. Edwards and husband David of Boise, ID. Ellen Matteri passed away suddenly at home on April 26, 1974. Jim met and later married Eva R. Cline of Arock, Oregon on May 4, 1994 in McDermott, Nevada. They enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Jim was famous for his seafood parties at their home in Danner, Oregon. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ellen and a baby boy. Jim leaves behind his loving wife Eva of 16 years, three children, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-children, eight step-grandchildren, and six great-step-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Jordan Valley Cemetery in Jordan Valley, Oregon.
