Also survived by his sisters in-law, Elsie McGrew, Marie Maggay, Lut Guns; brothers in-law Dirk and Geert Guns, and several nieces and nephews. James served his country honorably retiring as Chief Petty Officer from the US Navy after twenty-two years of service in 1986. He then went on to retire after eighteen years of civil service duty at the Cape Canaveral Detachment , 832nd Transportation Battalion, US Army in 2007. It is here at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, this Friday morning, April 8, 2016 we lay James F. McGrew to rest. Broken Chain We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. By Ron Tranmer
