James Jay McGuirl, 62, of St. Petersburg, FL, died unexpectedly on March 14th in his cherished home. Born in 1955 to Mildred and Robert McGuirl, Jim grew up in Pelham Manor, NY, the youngest of five children. He graduated from Pelham Memorial High School, where he played several sports and maintained a large group of friends. Following graduation, Jim settled in St. Pete, where he raised his two sons - the pride of his life. He was a hard working and devoted father, a great storyteller and a loyal friend, who never ceased to spread joy and good humor wherever he went. Besides spending time with the people he loved, Jim enjoyed walks with his constant companion - his dog Dixie. Jim could light up any room with his wit and charm. His bright and energetic spirit will be missed by all. Jim is survived by his sons, Joel and Jason, grandsons Liam and Colin, brother Robert, sisters Patricia, Elizabeth and Kathleen and many adoring nieces and nephews in NY and Florida. Memorial service will be Monday, Mar. 19th at 4:00PM, at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, 2201 Dr. M. L. K. Street North.
