James Howard McKasson passed away on October 10, 2013 with family present. Jim was born on June 29th, 1945 in Chico, California to Loren James McKasson and Ella Mae Shaw. He grew up and attended school in Vallejo, CA but spent his summers working on his Grandfather's ranch in Chico. Jim met and married the love of his life, Dianne on June 24th 1972. Jim served in the Air Force where he was an air craft mechanic working of F-4 Phantoms and is a Viet Nam Veteran. Jim was a member of Table Mountain Masonic Lodge # 124 F&AM, Past Master of Naval Masonic Lodge #87 F&AM where he received the Hiram Award. Past Commander of Naval Commandry, Assistant Director of Ritual and Grand Sentinel. He received the Meritorious Service Award from the Grand Commandry of California. Past Patron of Gateway Chapter #3 OES & Paradise Chapter #549 OES. DeMolay. Past Associate Bethel Guardian of the International Order of Job's Daughters. Ben Ali Shrine. Jim played the Bag Pipes with the Ben Ali Pipes and Drums and with Calanish Pipe Band. He took patients to the Shrines Children's Hospital. Jim was a British car Mechanic for over 35 years specializing in Jaguars and belonged to the Model 'A' Ford Club of America and The Dodge Club. Past President of the Butte County Scottish Society and Clan Piper. He also enjoyed being with family, all of whom his was very proud of, playing the Bag pipes, which he would teach anyone who wanted to learn how to play the pipes, traveling, fishing, gardening and playing 'Santa'. Jim is a member of Craig Memorial Congregational Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianne. 2 daughters, Michelle (Ed) Reano, Jamie (Wayne) Scoles and 4 Grandchildren, Kristyn, Jimmy, Ashley and Tyler. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Nov. 9th at 2:00p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 5934 Clark Rd., In Paradise, CA and on Nov. 23rd at 2:00p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 101 Temple Way, Vallejo, CA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
