James Santo Mellone, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Martin Andersen Chorus. Jim is survived by ""the sweetest girl in the whole, wide world, his darling angel, Verna,"" his wife of 62 years and their children: Barbara (Pete) Anderson, Diane (John) Holinda, Jane (Mike) Kendrick, James (Tammy) Mellone, Jr., Michael (Donna) Mellone, Lawrence Mellone. He was a loving Grandpa to their 17 grandchildren: Melissa K. Turner, Joshua Holinda, M. Joseph Kendrick, Jennifer Holinda, Michele M. Platt, Mariann Mellone, Andrew Anderson, Michael Mellone, Jr., James C. Mellone, Shannon Mellone, Matthew Mellone, Zachere Mellone, Luciano Mellone, Randolph Mellone, Mason Mellone, Joshua Jarrell, Caisadee Mellone. He also leaves 9 great-grandchildren: M. Joseph Kendrick, Jr., Amber Kendrick, Emily Platt, Jacob Turner, Abigail Kendrick, John Platt, III, Lucy Anderson, Noah Kendrick, Averie Mellone. He also leaves his beloved sister-in-law, Carmela “Aunt Lolly” Fillicelli; a dear friend of the family, Joanna; many nieces and nephews, and the best dog in the world, Lilly. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge, FL. The family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the mass.
