No visitation James “Jim” L. Moe Jim Moe, of Olympia, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. His wife and children were by his side. He was born April 16, 1946 to Arne and Gladys Moe in Everett, Washington. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1964 and continued his education at Everett Community College and Centralia College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Forestry. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972, in Texas and the Philippines. He was employed as a Forester with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources for 34 years. His illness forced him to retire in 2006. He loved his job and the outdoors. Every summer he worked hard as a wild-land firefighter and was later promoted to crew boss. He traveled all over the Northwest and as far as Alaska to fight fire, until his retirement. He married Laurette Bordeaux August 5, 1972 in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Ten years ago, they had the opportunity to celebrate their 25th anniversary with a trip to Norway. He enjoyed hunting, camping at Lake Riley with his family, travel, road trips and working on his farm. He attended the Fountain Church in Tumwater. He loved God and was a humble man. We will all miss him until we see him again in Heaven. He leaves behind his wife, Laurette, his son, Aaron and his daughters, Jennifer Seward, Kristy Boyd and Marsha Hickman, all of Olympia. He is also survived by his mother, Gladys Moe of Marysville, his brothers, Arnold Moe of Redmond, Allan Moe of Arlington, and his sister Alice Berg of Everett. He has six grandchildren, Aiden, Sydney, Eli and Libby Boyd, and Justin and Julia Seward, who will miss him very much. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Arne Moe and his nephew, Dan Berg. As well as his grandparents and other relatives in the Marysville area and in Norway. We will remember him as loving, strong, hard-working and gentle. A devoted dad, beloved grandfather and cherished husband and son.
