James Anthony Ortiz

James Anthony Ortiz, 31, resident of Gallup, New Mexico, was called home by the Lord on November 6th 2016. James was welcomed into this world on August 7th , 1985. James grew up in Albuquerque. He attended Chelwood Elementary, Kennedy Middle School and Manzano High School. James was employed at Genero's Restaurant. He had a passion for cooking and made the best sopaipilla burgers. James was a very caring individual who was always willing to help both family and friends. He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends reminiscing and creating new memories. James leaves behind his pride and joys, Santiago, I'Eessa, and Elijah; along with the mother of his children Tasha Sanchez. He is also survived by his parents Gloria Witherspoon and husband Reese, father Ronnie T. Ortiz and girlfriend Lorri Aragon, sister Amanda Tavarez and husband Ray, his grandparents, John B. and Anna Trujillo of Nambe, New Mexico and Jenny Ortiz of Cuyamungue, New Mexico. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, uncles and aunts, cousins and friends. James was preceded in death by his son, Orion Ortiz, grandfather Roberto Ortiz and uncle Andrew Ortiz. Services will be held on Thursday November 10th 2016 at John XXIII Catholic Community Church in Albuquerque. Visitation will begin at 10 am followed by a rosary. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am. Flowers can be delivered to John XXIII Catholic Community Church on Thursday morning.
