Warner Robins: James I. ?Jip? Poole Jr., 90, passed away on Monday March 15, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Mr. Poole was born in Americus to the late James I. And Louise Markette Poole. He was a graduate of Americus High School and attended Georgia Southwestern College from 1940 until 1942. He was retired from Robins AFB and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was also a life member and Chaplain of Tyrian Lodge 111 and President of the Houston County Shrine Club. Other memberships included the Perry Shrine Club, Life Member and Chaplain at Al Sihah Shrine Temple, New Covenant Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Bodies, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, H. L. Whitlock Council 309 Allied Masonic Degrees and a charter member of the Warner Robins Moose Lodge 1688. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Margaret Peterman Poole, sisters Lucy Barefield, Helen Davis and Martha Clark. Survivors include his children Donna Joe Maynard of Warner Robins and James Beth Poole, III of Bonaire. Sister Sis Beckwith of Decatur. Grandchildren: Kelly Tim Almasy, Courtney Poole and Cameron Poole. A number of great nieces, nephews and in-laws. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tyrian Lodge Scholarship & Endowment Fund, 650 Tallulah Tr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or the donor’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
