James M Romain

August 8th, 1969 - March 25th, 2021

James M. Romain, 51, of Port Canaveral, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Born on August 8, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents John M. Romain and Helen M. Murphy. James was a 15-year resident of the sunshine state and had spent the last six of them in Cape Canaveral. Jim was the proud father of Maddox X. Romain, and was always pulling out photos of his son for everyone to see. He had a lifelong career working in the casino industry as a dealer, and later a manager. He made lifelong friends during his time at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, and at the Hard Rock and Victory Casino Cruise in Florida. As many knew, Jim loved shooting pool and dominated at the billiard halls. He played in many tournaments and was a constant winner! Jim is predeceased by his father, John M. Romain Sr. and survived by his mother, Helene Lawless; son, Maddox Romain; sisters, Helen Renyo (Jason), Delores Knapp (Jim), Tina Bassett; brothers, John Romain Jr, Richard Readdy, and James Readdy. To honor Jim, we are inviting friends and family for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6pm on the beach located at Cherie Down Park in Cape Canaveral.

Roco was a great friend. This appears to be an immature attempt on a personal vendetta perhaps? Rest in peace Roco. You will be missed. You helped so many people. Giving your heart- your son should be proud. I know how much you loved him.

Most generous man I ever knew. One time we were in McDonald’s and their was a homeless guy that looked rough sitting outside, and jimmy asked what he wanted to eat and bought the guy all this food, I was blown away! He loved his son. Maddox I am so sorry buddy, you stay strong and don’t you ever forget how good of a man he was and how much he loved you, nobody in life is perfect, however I know jimmy always tried to be a better man today then he was the day before, and in my opinion he accomplished that daily. He would take his the shirt off his back for anyone if he thought you needed it more! I love you Maddox and I pray for you hard right now. I pray I see you again someday also. I am trying to get there Thursday buddy, you hang in there, love you kid!

He was the most genuine person I ever met. No matter what kind of day he was having inside himself he always had a smile for you when he saw you cause he was truly happy when he was around his friends & family. I know he loved the sister and brother that he grew up with very much cause he talked about them days growing up and the things he regretted not doing for them. He was honestly and truly a good good man and I will deeply miss him. I won't miss how much he beat me in billiards though, he was a natural pool player and I got my game from him. I love you jimmy and know your in a better place, R.I.P my good friend.
