James George Rulec
July 21st, 1930 - April 27th, 2024
James was born on July 21,1930 in Berwyn Illinois. As a young man he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and living life to the fullest. He was drafted into the USMC in September of 1951 and served in active duty until 1953 and reserves until 1959.
James also lived in Minnesota with his wife Evelyn and Daughters Kathy, Sandy and Linda. It is here that he enjoyed fishing ,hunting and exploring nature. He loved the yearly boating trips up and down the Mississippi and St. Croix river with family and friends. He also created his own dill pickle recipe, which the grandkids loved, appropriately named PaPa's pickles.
James moved to Arizona with his wife Evelyn in 1997. His hobbies included hiking, hunting for gold and boating Lake Powell & Lake Pleasant. He loved the Arizona sunrises and sunsets and all that the Valley of the sun has to offer.
James was preceded in death by his Father John Rulec, Mother Anna Rulec and Brother John Rulec. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Evelyn, their children Kathy Lindquist and husband Doug Lindquist, Sandy Rulec, Linda Mann and husband Rocky Mann. Grandchildren Candice James and husband David, Kelly DeMorett and husband Matthew, Katie Barton and husband Jake, Danny Lindquist and wife Jeni, Natasha Nelson, Rochelle Nelson, Corey Nelson and partner Monica, Nicole Ness and husband Dylan. Great-grandchildren: Jaxon James, Zoe DeMorett, Dexter, Evelyn and Isabelle Barton, Logan and Charlie Lindquist, Tristan Henderson,Hailey and Mya Wicklund-Nelson, Isabelle Nelson, Savannah, Averey and Delilah Pham, Brynlee, Remi and Sienna Ness.
A loving husband, father and PaPa, he will live in our hearts and memories forever.
