James David Salem

James David Salem passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. James was born December 8, 1929 in El Paso, TX to the late Tony and the late Ruby (Nabhan) Salem. James attended Alta Vista Elementary School, Austin High School, and University of Texas, where he attained a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. He served in the Army and the Air Force. James was employed as a Financial Controller, and in his spare time enjoyed softball, tennis, and bowling. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Las Vegas. James married Mariana Marusich on June 29, 1957 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in El Paso, TX. He is survived by Mariana; his children James II, Christopher (Larkin Day), Travis (Deann Pancheri), Wayne, and Bryan (Diane Bordenave Salem); and his grandchildren, Christina, JR (Wayne Patrick), Steven, Michelle, William, Aubriana, and Jorden. A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday, October 28 from 4-5 PM at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV. The Funeral Services, Viewing at 3:00pm with Mass to follow at 4:00pm, will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV with Father William Kenny officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmie’s memory can be made to American Legion (Post 0100) Department of Nevada, 737 Veterans Memorial Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
