James Edward Smith, Jr.

James Edward Smith Jr.

 

 

Born May 29, 1964, and died August 6, 2024 in Tucson, AZ from natural causes at the age of 60 years old. James was preceded by his loving parents James Edward Sr. and Carole Ann Smith. And is survived by his brother Randall Alexander Smith, and James’ children: Justine Alicia Callahan, Alexandria Marie Lundborg, Danial James Smith and Kayla Ann Smith. After graduating from Marana High School in 1982, he proudly served in the US NAVY before becoming a long-time accomplished cook. He may be most remembered and admired for his amazing musicianship, especially on guitar. Those who knew him best, knew the deep love in his heart, and his eternal devotion to his faith.

 

Services will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 10:00am, at the Tucson, Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, in the Prudence Ward of the East Stake; where he practiced his faith, and was occasionally a primary teacher to the 8–9-year-old children. The address to the Temple is 6901 E. Kenyon Dr, Tucson, AZ 85710

I met Brother Smith at church. I was touched when he shared his testimony. He was kind enough to seek me out and compliment me after he had heard me play piano. Modest and humble, he never even mentioned that he, himself, was an accomplished musician. Rest in peace.
