Jim was born in Atlantic City (Cass County), IA on February 19, 1936 to Charlie Joseph A. Strutz and Ruth Eliza Rynerson and was the youngest of six siblings. “Jimmy” served our country for 32 years and lived, worked and raised his family in Washington State. He is survived by his sons, James Kim Strutz and David Williams(adopted), twin daughters, Janeen Lewis and Jana Ward, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He enjoyed his final seven years in good company at the Veterans Community Living Center on American Lake in Lakewood, WA, to which we owe much gratitude for the kindness, service and commitment from the staff to our father and his fellow service men and women. Our appreciation also extends to the Williams family for their love and extra care for Grampa Jimmy in the years prior to the CLC. He is well loved and treasured for his devotion to family, for family trips to the Army base, camping, and constant attendance at sporting events and practices, to his favorite activity these past many years, going out to lunch. We’ll do that one more time in his honor after the service to be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday April 9, 2015 at 2 pm.
