January 23rd, 1927 - June 29th, 2009
Suggs, James Ottis 82, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Bon Secours Maria Manor. Born in Tabor City, NC, he came here in 1955. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Methodist faith. He worked for 13 years at Benton RC Haufman Construction Company and then worked with Florida Brake and Clutch for 27 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Mazzie Suggs; sisters, Lillian and Carol. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Frances L. Suggs; three children, Kenneth Annette D. Suggs, Sarah Richard Miller, and James Jade O. Suggs Jr.; two grandchildren, Ruth Ann and Jason; brothers and sisters, Elouise, Vernice, Loufloy, Hilda, Maggie, Lacy, Robert and Thomas. Family requests donations be made in his name to Bon Secours Maria Manor, Alzheimer's Wing or to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. You left this world, but not our hearts…we love you!
