James C. Wissman, 86, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of New Bremen, OH, passed away on March 7, 2015 at Woodside Hospice Center surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on September 28, 1928, to Lawrence and Estella (Rolfes) Wissman and they preceded him in death. On July 12, 1950 he married MaryLee Doenges in St. Marys, OH,and she survives him in St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by children Tom and Denise Wissman, Longmont, CO, Dianne and Carl Schwartz, Larry (deceased) and Teresa Wissman, all of New Bremen, OH, Donna and Scott Brinkman of Louisville, KY, Rick and Pam Wissman of Loveland, CO and Sherri and Sam Harris of Roswell, GA, grandchildren Sadye Wissman (Jason Huston), Ryan (Lexy), Eric (Melissa), Doug (Jenny), and Sarah Schwartz, Andrea (Joshua) Barr, Ben (Jessica) Wissman, Kristy Turner, David and Courtney Brinkman, Glenda (Shawn) Sullivan, Isaac, Kyle, Kelsey Wissman, Seth and Brooke Harris, great-grandchildren, Catherine, William, Beckham, Mackenzie, Austin, Brooke, Iziah and James, brothers John and Ann, Kansas and Jerry and Arlene of Minster. James was owner and President of Precision Tool and Die in New Bremen from 1955 to 1977, Town Council President and Mayor. Jim and Mary moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1977 where he worked for five years as a business consultant prior to full retirement. As a member of Holy Family Church Jim enjoyed being president of the Men's Club and was a longtime usher. Jim's interests were spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were all very special to him, playing cards, golfing, sports, and his spirit of being outdoors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen with the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster, OH. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at the Gilberg Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 at which time the rosary will be said. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.gilberghartwigfh.com
