Jan Feller

May 2nd, 2013

Jan Feller, 57, passed away on May 2, 2013, after battling a long illness. Jan was born on February 9, 1956 in Caldwell, Idaho. Her parents were immigrants from Holland and Jan was always proud of her Dutch heritage. She grew up on a dairy farm in Middleton, Idaho, the youngest in her family. She referred to her sister, Helen, and her brother, Koop, as “the big kids”. Jan graduated from Middleton High School in 1974. Shortly after, she married Bill Feller. Her son, Andrew, was born in 1986, he is the light of his Mom’s life and she is so proud of him. After her divorce, Jan worked for Clinique for ten years, went to school to learn the travel agency business, after that she trained in the art of permanent cosmetics. She always had the loving support of her family, especially from her sister, Helen, and brother-in-law, Bob. When Helen passed away in 2011, Jan was heart-broken and she often spoke of how much she missed her sister. Jan’s loved ones are comforted knowing that they are together again, along with their brother, Koop. Jan has been brave and strong, enduring many surgeries and lots of pain, yet always looking forward to better times so she could enjoy her passions. She loved to travel, socialize and cook. Her television wasn’t on often, but when it was, it was tuned to a cooking show! Her positive attitude was amazing. Jan leaves behind her son, Andrew, her loving parents, Gys and Zwaantje van Beek, her brother-in-law, Bob Feller, special cousins, Nellie and Jocoba and her extended van Beek family, her nieces, Tanya Duncan and Missy Huff and their families, her life-long friend, Brenda McLean, and all the friends who treasured her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Feller, and her brother, Koop Jansen van Beek. Sincere thanks to Dr. Kantarian, the medical staff who has cared for her through the years, and Stephanie of Horizon Hospice. You are healthy again, Sweet Jan! We know you are in Heaven enjoying a big lobster dinner! Until we meet again . . . . . . . Donations in Jan’s name would be welcome to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (in honor of Jan’s sister, Helen) at 230 E. Ohio St. #304, Chicago, IL 60611-3201 or the Idaho Food Bank, 3562 S. Hemine and Stephen Weiser

Lieve Gijs en Zwaan, so sad to read about Jan’s passing. We used to see her occasionally and talk about you and the “good old times”. We were always struck by her fighting spirit and optimism. You are in our thoughts.

Andrew, I know you will miss your mother dearly and we want to send our deepest sympathies to both you and Bob. Loosing a parent is hard no matter how old we are, but a mother's love is never lost and will always be in your heart.
