Jane C. Brownell, 93 died Saturday, January 30, 2010. She was born June 23, 1916 in Hope Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Minnie Arnold Brownell. Jane worked as a receptionist for Dr. Wilsey in Gloversville. She was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gloversville. Everybody loved Jane; she was very popular and had many friends. She was always a lot of fun. She loved hiking and bowling but most of all, she loved to be with her nieces and nephews, taking them for long walks and treating them to jelly donuts. She will be very sadly missed. Jane is survived by a sister, Margaret Donati Lawrence of Schenectady;many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a sister-in-law, Elsie Brownell. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by seven brothers: Isaac, Woodrow, Raymond, Henry, Richard, Arnold and Donald and a sister, Kathryn Hemstreet. Family and friends may call Wednesday, February 3 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with family member, Neal Longe officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Perth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Jane's name Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville 12078.
