Janice Galvez, 81 years old, of Tucson, Arizona, was taken by the Lord to heaven on July 3, 2017, after suffering a severe stroke. Janice’s Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:00am on July 12, at Sacred Heart Church officiated by Father Jim Hobert. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, July 11, with the recital of the Rosary at 6:00pm at Angel Valley Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Angel Valley Funeral Home. Janice will be laid to rest, along with the ashes of her husband, Victor R. Galvez, and her son, Francisco (David) Galvez, at Holy Hope Cemetery immediately after the Celebration of Life Mass. Janice was born in Kankakee, Illinois on September 3, 1935. She has four brothers; Edwin, Victor, Albert, and Joseph, and three sisters; Frances, Judith, and Rita. Janice moved to Tucson while in her teens to help her mother raise her younger brothers and sisters. Janice worked as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Mary’s Hospital. Her career ended early when she met and married her one and only Victor. Victor and Janice were married on February 2, 1957; they were married 60 wonderful years. Janice loved to travel with Victor and her children and they had many adventures together. They took ocean cruises, and trips to Mexico, California, Arkansas, and Illinois. Janice’s children meant the world to her and she was totally devoted to raising them to be successful and happy in their lives. Janice is survived by her children; Victor Galvez (Joyce Ann), Alex Galvez (Lourdes), Mary Rita Rounds, Mary Ann Araiza (Cris), Mary Jo Galvez (Jeff), Mary Helen Vega (Rudy), Christopher Galvez (Marleah), her grandchildren; Victor Galvez Jr. (Patty), Michael Galvez, Geovanna Galvez, James Galvez, Amber Araiza (Ryder Rodriguez), Crisolfo Araiza (Logan), Rudy Vega Jr., Ashley Galvez, Francisco Galvez Jr., Chris Galvez Jr., Coreena Galvez, Corey Galvez, Cameron Galvez, Alliyah Henry, Aspen Galvez, her great grandchildren; Tyler Galvez, Adrian Galvez, Miguel Galvez, Juliet Gaona, Riley Rodriquez, and Rome Rodriguez. Janice is preceded in death by her husband Victor and her sons Francisco and Johnny, and her daughter Mary Grace. Janice’s precious husband Victor had passed away only 12 days earlier on June 21. She could not bear the loss of her true love and she left this world with a broken heart. We have peace in our hearts knowing that Janice and Victor have been reunited with the Lord and will be together forever.
