The Longest Survivor of Eight siblings only four of which reached Adulthood, Tom E. “Buddy”,Hiram, Cornelia and Jane. Life was hard in South Georgia in the 30's for the Kennedy family sometimes without enough food to eat. Jane's older brother T.E.Kennedy Jr. went to work at the age of 13 to help support the family and Boy did he, from food to eat to college tuition to Valdosta State College “Buddy” made sure Jane and the family was taken care of. Jane met and married George W Harmony Jr. in the summer of 1948 and were soon off to the Everglades where George was foreman of a sawmill. By 1952 the young couple had moved to Clearwater Florida where George III and later Thomas P. were born and they resided until 1978.
