Jane Rabo

JANE SUE RABO Jane Sue Rabo entered into rest, at the age of 67, on November 17, 2014. She was born in Oakland, California to Vincent and Sue O'Connor on April 5, 1947. Jane attended Skyline High School and CSU, Chico. She married Michael Stephen Rabo on July 22, 1972 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage. They raised their children Christopher, Nicole, and Angela in Durham where Jane worked as a preschool teacher and a homemaker. She later worked at the Esplanade House transitional shelter where she ran the childcare program and nurtured families as if they were her own. She loved trips in the motorhome, boating, playing ping pong and weekend trips to Lake Almanor and Reno. Summer was her favorite time of the year where she enjoyed time around the pool with her grandchildren. Jane was an active volunteer in the Chico community. She dedicated her life to helping others. She was a volunteer at the Women's Resource Clinic, Catholic Ladies Relief, Sabbath House, the American Cancer Society and Ministry of the Homebound. She was a parishioner at Our Divine Savior and enjoyed attending weekly bible studies. She liked having her family gather around the dinner table, shopping for her children and grandchildren, and visiting with friends. She loved being surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren. Jane is preceded in death by her father and mother, Vince and Sue. She is survived by her sister Jean Rabo (David), and children Chris Rabo (Laurie), Nicole Jarmush (Stephen), and Angela Rabo. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Evan, Megan and Tyler Rabo, Delia, Emma, and Clara Jarmush, and Gracie Rabo. A rosary vigil service will be held at Our Divine Savior, 566 East Lassen Avenue in Chico on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services will immediately follow.
