Jane Gore Ramos
December 29th, 1945 - October 21st, 2022
Jane Gore Ramos passed away peacefully on Friday October 21, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. Jane was born on December 29, 1945 in Newport, Rhode Island, the daughter of Navy Captain John M. Gore and Emily Fenn Gore. The family followed their father’s Navy career from Boston, to Annapolis, to Norfolk, cross-country to Coronado, California, back to Philadelphia, and to Norfolk again. In 1960, the family moved to Jane’s beloved Paris, France for her high school years, where they lived in a French suburb away from the U.S. military enclave. Jane then attended Simmons College (now University) in Boston where she completed her nursing degree. In June 1967, Jane married Dr. Emilio Ramos, and they had two sons: Peter Jonas (February 19,1969) and Stephen John (July 8, 1970). In 1983, Jane returned to school at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland to complete a post-baccalaureate degree in IT management. She would go on to have a successful international career in the IT sector until she retired in 2005. Jane loved life. She was intelligent, creative, and charming, and she would light up any room she entered. Jane’s husband Emilio passed in October 2018. She is survived by her sons, daughters-in-law Nuria Jaumot-Pascual and Diane Ramos, her grandchildren Simon John, Gala, Nyla, and Enzo, and her sisters Anne (Nancy) Eakin of Durango, Colorado and Suzanne Gore Reynolds of Bradenton, Florida, along with a wide family network in the U.S. and beyond. There will be a Catholic service for Jane on Saturday November 5th at 1pm in the Griffith-Cline Chapel.
