Jane was born in Portland, Oregon on March 31, 1919. She passed away on July 29, 2013, at the age of 94. She is survived by her two sons, Jody ( fiancee,Cita) and Shad Sanders, her sister Evelyn Lundgren, grand children; Aimee Sanders (husband Chris), Jake Sanders(wife Nadia), and Shannon Lensing and three great grandchildren; Evie, Amma, and Alyse, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jane grew up in Portland,with her mother and father, John and Elizabeth Zehntbauer, her two sisters, Betty and Evelyn, and her brother John. She attended Laurelhurst Elementary, Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles, and Stanford University. Jane married Dudley Sanders, whom she met at Stanford, in 1941. After Dudley returned from the WW-2 battlefields in Europe and the Pacific, they settled in Sacramento, California. Jane was active with the Sacramento Ballet, and the Crocker Art Museum ,as a director, and artist. She also kept up with her studies of archeology and paleontology, passing those passionate interests on to her sons, Jody and Shad, and Shannon. Jane lived in Carmel, California for several years during the late '70's and '80's, before returning to the Pacific Northwest. Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetary in Portland, @ 2:30 pm Friday, August 2, 2013.
