Jane Shepard (84) passed away peacefully, March 4, 2013, at the Hospice of the Southwest Green House, Phoenix, Arizona, with her eldest son at her side. Born Jane Catherine Towner on September 15, 1928, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles B. and Elizabeth Towner; her journey west began a few years later when the family relocated to Tucson, Arizona. After her graduation in 1949 Jane continued to work at St. Mary's Hospital. It was during this time she met her husband to be John Shepard. They married in 1950. After a short stay in El Paso, Texas, she returned home to Tucson and started a family while continuing her devotion to nursing until her retirement in 1992 from St. Joseph's Hospital. She is survived by her sons, John (Patricia) Shepard, Mark (Donna) Shepard, and her daughter, Ann (Rick) Castro. Grandchildren, John C. (Sabrina) Shepard, Jennifer Shepard, Steve Castro, Tim (Diane) Castro, Natalie Shepard and Nicole (Justin) Costanzo. A third son, Charles died in 1997. As a charter member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church a Funeral Mass for family and friends will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00am, 1800 S.
