Jane Ann Vance

Obituary Jane Ann Vance, 78 of Fort Collins Colorado passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 from an aortic aneurism. Jane was born on December 9, 1941 in Saginaw Michigan youngest of six children to Clyde and Lenore Petersen. Jane graduated from St. Andrews Catholic School class of 1958. She went on to marry Eldorias "Bill" William Melzo also of Saginaw in 1959. In 1960 she gave birth to their only child, a baby boy Mark William Melzo. Jane moved from Saginaw Michigan to Greeley Colorado in 1977, where she met, fell in love with, and in 1990 married Wayne Thomas Vance of Greeley in Las Vegas Nevada. They were married for 23 years before Wayne's passing in the fall of 2014. Jane worked in the food and customer service industries for the majority of her life until retirement. She quickly became bored after retrieving and in 2009 Jane took a part time job as a demo event specialist at Sam's Club in Evans until the summer of 2017 when she had to quit and move in with her granddaughter and her family to have help caring for herself due to dementia. Jane lived with Ryan and Rebecca for the next three years and was better known as Grandma Turtle to her two great granddaughters Regan Lou and Rylynn Jo Riddle, who she adored more than anything else in the world. Jane is survived by her only son and his wife, Mark and Mary Melzo of Fort Collins, Her only granddaughter Rebecca and her husband Ryan Riddle also of Fort Collins and their two daughters Regan Lou and Rylynn Jo Riddle, her first husband Eldorias "Bill" William Melzo of Evans Colorado and several nieces and nephews from Utah to Michigan. Jane is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Thomas Vance, her Eldest sister Katherine Larson of Michigan and all four of her brothers John, Paul, Charley and Jim Petersen all of Michigan.
