Janet Sue Brooks

Janet Sue Brooks (Sue) age 88 Hilton Head Island, SC passed away February 5 in her home. Sue was born in Parkersburg, WV, November 21, 1929 to Frederick C. Renner and Sophia W. Bargeloh Renner. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Fred Renner and Mary Louise Ash of Parkersburg, WV, and her husband John D. Brooks (Jack) of Hilton Head Island. Sue was a graduate of PHS and Marshall University. After graduating from college, she was a medical technologist at Camden Clark prior to her marriage to Jack Brooks. She enjoyed 56 years of marriage, raising a family, practicing hospitality in her home and partnering in business with her husband. Sue was a member of Junior League of Parkersburg and Zonta of Hilton Head and First Presbyterian Church Hilton Head. She leaves behind her children: J. Dudley Brooks Jr., Hilton Head Island; Nancy E. Brooks, Charleston, SC; Roger B. Brooks, Thornton, CO; Barbara S. Maley and son in law Jeff Maley, Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren: Jessica Runk, Greenville, SC; Casey Brooks, Alexandria, VA; John D. Brooks III Denver, CO; Jack Brooks, Broomfield, CO; Emma Brooks, Broomfield, CO and Suzanne Maley, Charlotte, NC and three great grandchildren Westley Runk, Greenville, SC; Jayden Brooks and Myla Brooks, Denver, CO. and many beloved nieces, nephews and life-long friends. A memorial will be held at First Presbyterian Hilton Head Honey Horn Chapel at 2pm Saturday, February 10, with a reception in the Gathering Place of First Presbyterian immediately following the service.
