Janet Louise Eby
April 21st, 1934 - December 3rd, 2022
Janet Eby passed away peacefully from a sudden illness surrounded by loving family members on December 3, 2022. Janet was born in Silverton, Oregon on April 21, 1934 to Raymond and Louise Kellis. She is proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and John, and her husband Arnie. She is survived by her son Steve (Dawn) Eby, daughter Jamy (Terry) Gibbs, daughter Sheryl (Mark) Smith, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She graduated from Molalla Union High School where she was a member of the May Day Court, Honor Society and a valedictorian speaker at her graduation ceremony. Janet met the love of her life Arnold (Arnie) while attending high school in Molalla, Oregon. They were married after high school and spent almost 6 decades together until Arnie past away in 2005. They raised three children together and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, square dancing, spending time playing cards and entertaining life long friends and family. They lived in Scotts Mills, Oregon, Redmond, Oregon and Reno/Sparks, Nevada. Janet worked for the Oregon Highway Department in Salem, support staff member under Mayor Sam Johnson (former Oregon House of Representatives) in Redmond and as a bookkeeper at Model Dairy in Reno. Janet was a member of Trinity Lutheran church in Silverton, Zion Lutheran church in Redmond, and was a charter member of Faith Lutheran church in Reno, NV. She was President and member of the Central Oregon chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha in Redmond, and a member of Sonja Henie lodge of The Daughters of Norway in Reno. Through these philanthropic organizations she participated in fund raisers and program events that supported the welfare of local communities. Throughout her life Janet was dedicated to her loyal and dearly loved animal companions, most of which were rescue dogs. If you would like to donate to a charitable organization in her memory, please consider a local animal shelter or rescue. Janet was passionate about her love of family and took a great interest in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, their interests, and activities. Jan will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
