Janet Quesnoy

November 8th, 1943 - April 4th, 2024

Our precious mother, Janet E. Quesnoy, age 80, of Parker, CO, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2024, after battling Leukemia. She was born on November 8, 1943, in Virginia, the daughter of Inez (Carr) and Donald Nichter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Micheal Lewis Quesnoy, the love of her life. Jan and her sister Judy were best friends, having grown up as “Navy Brats,” changing schools every couple of years. They still spoke every day, reading their Bibles, doing devotions, and praying together.

Jan was the most loving mother to her daughters, Kellie (Mike) Mullane and Jill (Kent) Wilson. Her five grandchildren, Danielle Mullane, Taylor (Jacob) Wilmes, Ian Mullane, Kenna Wilson, and Macy Wilson, were her biggest joy.

After graduating from Littleton High School in 1961 she married Mike. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary before Mike passed away in 2021. Jan worked for the phone company proofing the phone book before she became a full-time, stay-at-home mom to Kellie and Jill. Later she worked as a school secretary for Littleton Public Schools where she was awarded Colorado Awards Honoree in 1989 for her dedicated service.

After retiring in 2001 Jan enjoyed many hobbies including reading, quilting, golfing, gardening, card making, teaching English to newcomers, volunteering at Parker Core Knowledge Charter School, and traveling. Jan always prioritized Bible study, often participating in more than one at a time. Packing Military boxes at church was one way Jan showed her patriotism and support for her grandson, serving in the Army, and the many military members who ensure our freedom.

More important than her hobbies was her love for Jesus and people. One of her best gifts was fostering lifelong friendships. She joyfully worked to fulfill Jesus’ command in John 13:43, “A new command I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Jan extended friendships to new neighbors with homemade pies, hosted family and friends in her home, and encouraged others who have lost loved ones through the Grief Share ministry. Jan was a great example of how to love others well.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on May 17th at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church. A private family interment will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery where Jan will be laid to rest next to Mike, her late husband.
