Poem by Betty Miller. Miss me but let me go….
**Janneke Elizabeth Rienstra (Annie)**
*February 1, 1927 - February 26, 2024*
Annie was the fourth of fourteen children, born in Terneuzen, Zeeland, in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. Growing up during World War II, she had many captivating stories of her experiences.
Annie was a go-getter, known for always being busy and keeping an immaculate home. She enjoyed a long career as an Avon representative. Her favorite job, however, was being the hostess at Grootmoeders Tafel in the Amway Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Annie was a dedicated worker and a great support to her husband Albert in his plumbing business. She was always on the move, embodying the spirit of hard work.
She cherished her friends and family, being a loving mother to her two sons, Bart and Bill. After Albert's passing in 2014, Annie moved to Puyallup, Washington, to live with her son Bill. She had a house built behind her granddaughter’s home, where she lived from 2018 to 2024. Her great-grandchildren visited daily sharing cocoa and cookies with her.
Annie adored her Bichon dog, Molly, who would always lie behind her on the sofa as she watched TV. She treasured family gatherings and many memorable dinners in the backyard. In her final year and a half, Annie struggled with dementia, finding it difficult to adjust to her situation. She was ready to be with Jesus and passed away at the age of 97.
Annie, leaves behind her two sons Bart and Bill (Pam), granddaughters, Melinda King (Dennis), Lindsey Chumley (Joe) and her six great grandchildren, Kensie and DK King, Grace, Noelle, Leah, and Hope Chumley, and many nieces and nephews.
We love you, Mom, and miss you every day.
