Jared Wayne Aurich passed away on June 1, 2015 after spending the previous four days with family and friends. Jared was born in Ogden, Utah on June 13, 1978. He grew up in Syracuse, Utah and attended Clearfield High School where he lettered in football and track and field. Jared then went on to Weber State University, where he earned his Associate’s Degree. He then attended Boise State University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, graduating with honors in 2003. As a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Auburn University he was able to complete his Master’s degree. Jared was married August 6, 2004 to Natalie Taylor in Boise, ID. He strived every day to be a loving husband and father. He always put his family first, but also found time to love, serve, and inspire others. He made friends easily because of his fun and outgoing personality. Natalie and Jared built a beautiful life together in Boise, and eventually moved to Colorado then Washington. Jared lived a life full of service. He served in various callings in his church, primarily working with Young Men’s groups. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1997-1999 in the Brazil Rio De Janeiro North Mission. Jared was a strength and conditioning coach. His career allowed him to impact many people’s lives in a profound way. His career began as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boise State University, then at the University of Colorado. His skill and professionalism led him to the State of Washington where he developed the Human Performance Department for the 1st Special Forces Group for the United States Army. Many know him as “Coach Jared” for the endless hours he put into developing athletes young and old. He impacted many athletes with a desire to influence their life in a positive way on and off the field. He loved all of his athletes and loved seeing their successes big and small. Teams he worked with include: the Boise State football team, men’s and women’s tennis, wrestling, volleyball, women’s basketball, and track and field. At the University of Colorado, he worked with football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, golf and skiing. While in Washington, he coached the Puyallup Lacrosse Club, various youth sport including football, t- ball, baseball, basketball, and soccer. He especially loved having the opportunity to coach his son and daughter. Jared loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, training, and reading. He enjoyed time with his family doing simple things like riding bikes, going on walks, and having family wrestling matches. He spent a lot of time attending and watching sporting events. Jared is preceded in death by his mother Sandy Aurich. Surviving loved ones include his wife and children, Natalie, Brayden (8), Reagan (5), Dallin (3), and Lauren who will be joining the family in October. He also leaves his father, Jerry Aurich; brothers Jason, Adam, and Logan Aurich; sisters Lisa Stephenson, Amy Hope, and Melissa Maroney; father and mother-in-law Greg and Chris Taylor, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Jared. The family would like to thank all those who visited Jared and offered love, support, and prayers in the days leading up to his passing. Funeral Services will be held Monday June 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Graham Stake Center, 13612 224th St. E Graham, Washington. The viewing will be held Sunday June 7, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ridgecrest LDS Church, 12407 Military Rd E, Puyallup, Washington. A viewing will also be held on Monday June 8, 2015 from 11-12:30 at the Graham Stake Center, preceding the funeral. Flowers may be sent to Curnow Funeral Home, 1504 Main St. Sumner, WA 98390.
