Aspen Mortuaries - Lakewood
Jared Stuart Hayward
January 17th, 1988 - May 3rd, 2021
Jared S. Hayward was the embodiment of stoic determination and bravery, known by the Finnish as sisu. He stubbornly fought through a short, intense battle with Pancreatic Cancer, never stopping making plans for the future. Jareds†™ belief in Christ and his faith in his salvation was a huge comfort over the last seven months. He knew, without hesitation, that he was going to Heaven when the time came for him to leave this world. He joined our Lord on May 3, 2021. Jared was born in January of 1988 in Marquette, Michigan. He spent his life pursuing his passion for the outdoors and sports. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, camping and especially hockey. Jared studied Industrial Engineering at Northern Michigan University, and he became a Diagnostic Mechanic, leading a crew at Freeport McMoRan. Along with his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed helping people in their greatest times of need. He pursued additional education in Emergency Medical Services, receiving numerous certifications including his National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license. Jared was also honored with the appointment of a Medic position on the Mine Rescue Team, training numerous hours to ensure the safety of his co-workers on this highly-awarded and competitive team. Jared never stopped learning and growing. In addition to his other accomplishments, he became a Deputy Coroner for Clear Creek County, serving his community on its most challenging days. He took these duties very seriously, helping to bring peace and closure to the grieving families. We will fondly remember Jared†™s dry wit, infectious smile, love of Otter Pops, and penchant for destroying cell phones. His quiet, kind, and gentle demeanor was full of so much love and loyalty. There has never been a more devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, or friend. Jared is survived by his wife Taylor, brother Aaron and sister-in-law Maggie, nephews Isaac and Evan, his father Neil (Cindy) Hayward, his mother Michelle (Paul Kueber) Signs, a large extended family, and many dear friends. Traditional Services will be Friday, May 14th beginning at 3:00 pm at Flatirons Community Church West, 24887 Genesee Trail Rd. Golden, CO 80401. Honoring his love for the outdoors, the family invites you to join them on a hike on Saturday, May 15th. Location and time will be announced in the coming days. The family would like to encourage all of Jared†™s friends and family, based on his wishes, to do the necessary steps for any early detection of cancer markers. Jared was adamant in his belief that there needed to be more frequent and persistent conversation regarding Pancreatic Cancer and earlier detection for all cancer types. His wish was to share his story and encourage people everywhere to advocate for their health. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or the Colorado Fourteener Initiative (14ers.org). The family is being served by Aspen Mortuaries.
