Jarnail Singh Cheema

Jarnail Singh Cheema, of Yuba City, CA, passed away September 29, 2018, at the age of 60. He was born June 21, 1958, in Cheema Kalan, District Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He immigrated to America in April of 1979, with his mother and two of his sisters, to join his brother, father and grandparents, who were living in Yuba City. Jarnail was an active member of the community for over 39 years. Loving and caring, always giving back when he could, to the Sikh Temple in Yuba City, and the greater Yuba-Sutter area through community service for over 39 years. His occupation was fruit and nut farming, similar to his ancestors, however; farming was more of his passion. He believed farming is essential for humanity to thrive. When he was not working on the family ranch he loved to spend time with his large extended family. ~To each and every person he knew and touched he was a father, brother, uncle and friend. He was always there to help and loved everyone as his own. He cared deeply for his wife of over 26 years, Gurbax Kaur, son Pinderdeep and daughter Navi. He is survived by his wife, Gurbax Kaur; son, Pinderdeep Singh Cheema; daughter, Navdeep "Navi" Kaur Cheema; father, Sohan Singh Cheema; mother, Tej Kaur Cheema; brother, Karnail Singh Cheema; mother-in-law, Avtar Kaur; three sisters, three sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held October 6, 2018, 11am-1pm, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City. Religious services will be held at the Sikh Temple, Tierra Buena Rd., Yuba City
