Jason Carroll May, 82, of Greeley, CO passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Centennial Healthcare Center in Greeley. He was born on October 27, 1932 in Ashland, OH. He grew up in Ringling, OK. Jason graduated high school in Tulsa, OK and attended Tulsa University for two years. Jason and Marilyn Davidson married on September 2, 1961. They made their home in Tulsa and later moved to Colorado. Jason proudly served in Korea as a Marine in the First Division. He later joined the Oklahoma National Guard and served the people of Tulsa as a police officer and detective. Upon his move to Colorado, he joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and continued to be active in the Colorado National Guard. He was a member of the All National Guard Shooting Team which led to his full time employment in the Colorado National Guard. He later worked for the US Army as a National Guard recruiter. He retired in 1992 as a Sergeant Major in the Colorado National Guard. He loved hunting, fishing, wood carving, black powder shooting, and cowboy shooting. He was active in the Boy Scouts and mentored a youth program for competitive rifle shooting. His family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Jason is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn of Greeley; son, Bruce (Lynn) of Westcliffe, CO; daughter, Rebecca (John) Figgs of Greeley; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Rae Carroll; his father, Jessie Jewell May; and son William Harvey May. Viewing will be on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634. A celebration of Jason’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Calvary Chapel, 2602 West 27th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. Memorial gifts may be made in Jason’s name to "American Stroke Association” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
