December 21st, 1945 - May 13th, 2017
JD Hays, beloved husband and father died Saturday, May 13th at his home in Parker, Colorado surrounded by loved ones. JD was a proud member of the Steamboat Police Department from 1980 until his retirement as Chief of Police in 2012. He loved the Steamboat community and the Colorado outdoors. He relished every moment of fishing, hunting, and camping that it provided. He is survived by his wife Paula, his sons Scott (Leilani) of Denver, CO and Tim (Amber), and granddaughter Sydney of Carmel, IN.
