Jean Kirkpatrick Brown, 98, of Rockville, MD passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 at Shady Grove Nursing Center. Jean was born in Leesburg, VA, daughter of the late Herbert and Annie (Rollins) Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by her son Hugh, husbands Hugh T. Brown Sr. and Richard Vaudreuil, and brother Herbert Nelson Kirkpatrick Jr. Survived by brothers Raymond Kirkpatrick of Leesburg and William Kirkpatrick of Fairfax; daughters Jean Caruso and husband Peter, Joan Mundy and husband Marty, Anne Brown, Beth Hunt and husband Timothy, and June Colie. Grandchildren Hugh (Ted), Joshua, Josie, Jessie, Kristin, Tony, Gino, Eric, Dana, Emily, Nicholas, Robert, Ryan, Justine; great-grandchildren Jake, Drew, Savannah, Hayleigh, Austin, Holly, Emily, Andrew, Maria, Eric, Vince, Sophia, Alexander, Hayley, Joseph, Reese, Trey, Bryce, Henry, Rowan; great-great-grandchildren Fielding, Quinn, Rachel, Layla, Brooks, Calder; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg and Christ Episcopal Church in Rockville. Immediately after graduating from Leesburg High School she began working for the FBI, one of the many “government girls” that worked in the nation’s capital during WWII. She retired as an assistant branch manager from First National Bank in Rockville and later as a clerk for Loudoun County Government. Jean enjoyed entertaining family and always made the holidays very special, loved flowers, books and genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of the Hamilton Book Club. A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery in Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army - salvationarmy.org.
