Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY FRANKFORT- Jean Moran Crumley, 86, died peacefully on June 29, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. Jean was born December 18, 1927 in Rosboro, AR to Ernest B. and Mary J. (Self) Moran. As a child, Jean lived in Rosboro, Fordyce and Little Rock, AR. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School in the Class of 1946. In 1946, Jean married Gerald F. Crumley while living in Little Rock. Three children were born to them, Ben, Susan and Gary. Jean's primary interest in life concerned working alongside her husband during his ministry in Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi until her husband's retirement. They spent the final years of their marriage in Texarkana, TX in service to their church, County Avenue Baptist, now known as Northern Hills Baptist Church. Throughout her adult life Jean worked in retail and as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney Co., was a kindergarten teacher, worked for Cloth World, and as a librarian. She enjoyed playing piano, singing in the church choir, and was an expert seamstress. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary J. Moran; her husband, Gerald F. Crumley; son, Gary Crumley and two brothers, Dillon Moran and Joe Moran. Jean Moan Crumley is survived by one son, M. Ben Culmyer, Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Susan Crumley Johnson (David), Frankfort, KY; and three grandchildren, John Shelby, Katrina Shelby and Deanna Shelby. Jean is also survived by six great grandchildren. Jean's family wishes to thank the "Green Team" and staff of Hospice of the Bluegrass Frankfort, KY and the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY for their loving care, comfort and support during Jean's final days. Also, thank you to Caretenders and Comfort Keepers, Frankfort, KY. A special thanks goes out to her caregiver and friend, Judy Barnes, who served faithfully during the final weeks of Jean's life. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass 663 Tetons Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601 and/or Texarkana Children's Home, P.O. Box 611 Texarkana, TX 75504. Funeral Information Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with Clark Legacy Center, Frankfort, KY. Jean will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR.
