Hummer, Jean B. 89, of Seminole, Florida, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Largo Medical Center, Born 10/24/22 in Staunton, Va. The 8th of 11 children of William H. Beardsworth and Elizabeth Ellen Casey. She grew up in Va. and WV. Graduated from White Sulphur Springs H.S. Met husband Robert P. Hummer ( deceased) at an USO Dance. They married August 26, 1944 and had 55 years of happiness together. .Devoted Mother of nine children, Survived by her sister, Meredith Anne Vogel of Randolph, NJ, Daughter, Jeanne Youger-Comaty and husband, Ken, of Columbus, Ohio, grandson, John Bret Youger and wife, Tracy, and great grandchildren Zachary Bret, Lindsay Rose and Carly Jean Youger, Ohio; Daughter, Patricia M. Van Alstine and grandchildren Teresa and Matthew Van Alstine of St. Petersburg, FL.; Daughter, Margaret Anne Hummer, of Seminole, FL.; Son, Robert P. Hummer, Jr., of Seminole Fl.and grandchildren Andrew, Alec, and Maggie Hummer; Son, James H. Hummer of Kill Devil Hills, NC.; Son, William C. Hummer and wife, Yvonne, of Crystal River, FL., granddaugher, Caroline Hummer Rum and husband, Shadi, and great grand children Kareem and Dean Rum of Seminole, FL., grandson, Michael Hummer of St. Petersburg, FL.; Son, John T. Hummer and wife, Sheri, of St. Petersburg, FL., and grandsons, Anthony and Javonte Hummer of Riverview, FL.; Son, Brian J. Hummer and wife, Carolyn, and grandchildren Katie and Aaron Hummer of Seminole, FL., Son, George B. Hummer and wife, Pam, and grandson, Stephen Hummer of Seminole, FL., adopted sons, Charlie Jones and Gilbert Rivera, Seminole FL. Jean was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Seminole, FL she was a member of choir, of prayer meetings bible studies, Legion of Mary, Blue Army and Pro Life Movement. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and recitation of the Rosary. She filled her children's lives with laughter, song, stories, hope, love, courage, prayer and unwavering faith. She worked as a Legal Secretary for the Public Defenders, State of Florida. Her wake will be from 6 - 9 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, FL. Funeral Services will take place, May 9, 2012, at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 11565 66th Ave. Seminole, FL followed by Graveside Service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave North. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Pinellas Hope, Services for the Homeless.
