Jean G. Paige

Mrs. Jean G. Paige, 84, of Hickory Hill Road, Fonda, NY died peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Norfolk, NY on June 13, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Frances LaPointe Gang. Jean was a lifelong area resident. She was employed at White Mop Wringer Company in Fultonville for many years until her retirement. On July 23, 1955 she was united in marriage to Norman J. Paige. Together for over 65 years, they had a blessed and happy marriage. A devout Catholic, Jean was a member of St. Cecilia’s and Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church’s. She enjoyed making crafts and sewing. Jean was also a longtime member of “Tops.” She will be remembered for the cakes that she made for special occasions and family gatherings. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband, Norman; two daughters, Patsy (Keith) Vertucci of Tribes Hill, NY and Betsy (Peter) Fancher of Dallas, NC; three grandchildren, Brittany (Eric) Matthews, Ashley Fancher, Stacy Vertucci (Trent Wood); three great grandchildren, Caleigh Grace, Kane and Angelo; one sister, Judy DeShane of Gouverneur, NY; one brother-in-law, Cyril (Jayne) Paige of Florida; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Tom Gang. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda, NY with the Rev. Christopher Welch officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
