Dr. Jean E. Kugler Reed passed away peacefully at home on February 8th. Jean was born March 14,1925 in southern California. At the age of 20 she enlisted in the Navy and worked in a hospital where she met her first husband. In the 1950s she returned to college and later became a Ph.D. psychologist. She worked at the Claremont Colleges and Occidental College before moving to Los Osos where she married her second husband, Warren Reed. Jean and Warren were very active in the community and after his death Jean continued to be involved in a wide range of activities. In her later years she enjoyed nothing more than to visit local stores and engage in animated conversation with both staff and customers. Jean was a brilliant woman and a skilled musician. She became a beloved member of St Benedict's Episcopal Church. Jean is survived by her sister, Janet Crew, and her children Karen and Bill. The celebration of her life will be held on February 24th at St Benedict's Episcopal Church, 2200 Snowy Egret Lane, Los Osos at 11am followed by a pot-luck lunch.
