Jean Diane Scott (Houde), affectionately known as Jeannie, gracefully departed this life on May 24, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family. She lived passionately for 75 years, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that touched everyone she met.

Born on October 11, 1948, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jean grew up in Fairfield amidst the joyful chaos of being the youngest of seven children. It was in Fairfield that she met her sweetheart, William (Billy), during their middle school years. Their love story spanned over 60 remarkable and memorable years, filled with love, marriage, and the joy of raising three beautiful daughters. Together, they had adventures that took them from Connecticut to Mesa, Arizona, to the sunny shores of North Port, Florida, and back to Gilbert, Arizona, where they would live out their years cherishing their family to the fullest.

Retirement brought Jean boundless joy. She found immense fulfillment in the company of her grandchildren, whom she adored endlessly, and her "kids," her beloved Shih Tzu dogs whom she treated like royalty—both meant the absolute world to her. A gifted seamstress, Jean's hands worked magic, creating quilts, blankets, and clothing imbued with love for family, friends, and even strangers. Her home was a haven of warmth and creativity, where everyone was always welcomed with open arms.

Jean's zest for life was infectious. She reveled in sunny days at the beach, the thrill of finding treasures at Goodwill, and the excitement of the casino, day or night. Her spirited personality, paired with her straightforward honesty and unwavering kindness, made her a beloved figure in every circle she touched.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, William Allen Scott; her daughters Laura Marie Scott-Perez (Mark Anthony Perez) and Christine Danielle Scott-Keough; her cherished grandchildren Lisa Marie Cehovsky, Michael James Cehovsky III (Mikey), Ashley Nicole Perez, Billie Jean Adams-Molina (Miss. Bee) (Usiel Molina), Kevin Ray Adams II (Kev-Man), Pamela Paige Perez, and Dawnielle Leigh Adams (Donnie); as well as ten great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, her beloved sister Joan Carol Houde-Jchick, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Pamela Jean Scott (Pammy), whom she joyfully reunited with after 40 years, her mother Helen Saul-Houde, father Earnest Francis Houde Sr., brothers Ralph Henry Stasalovich, Earnest Francis Houde Jr. (Buzzy), Don Edward Houde (Butch), and Kenneth Gary Houde (Kenny), and sister Barbara Joan Houde.

A viewing and funeral service to celebrate Jean's vibrant life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, located at 1374 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler, AZ 85225. In accordance with her wishes, Jean will be cremated and laid to rest beside her beloved daughter Pamela in Connecticut; details for the burial are forthcoming. Extreme efforts are being made to stream her services, allowing loved ones a far to join in honoring her memory.

Jean Diane Scott's legacy will forever shine brightly, a testament to her boundless love, creative spirit, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, laughter, and an abundance of love.
