Jean Tiland
March 22nd, 1937 - October 14th, 2019
Jean Tiland passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2019, at home in Elma, Washington. She was born March 22, 1937 to Gustav Emil Andersson and Verna Mary (Pilcher) Andersson in Everett, Washington. Over the years, she also lived in Alderwood Manor, Kingston and Longview, Washington. Jean graduated from Everett High School in June 1955. She married John Henry Wilson Tiland on September 16, 1957, and worked as a teacher and also in food services at the Sand Point Naval Base in Seattle. She loved reading, working in her garden, RV travelling, writing to friends and relatives, collecting ink wells, helping family and friends, and volunteering to help the Olympia Library. She belonged to The Friends of The Library, and Good Sam Travel Club (RVs). She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; daughter, Jancene Lunn; son, Jeromy Howard Tiland; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Robert LeRoy Andersson. She was predeceased by her parents, and son, Jeffrey Tiland. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Hall, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington, WA 98223.
