Jeanette Payne
August 13th, 1936 - April 4th, 2014
Jeanette Payne, 77, of Lakewood CO passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Hospital with family by her side. Our family’s loss is Heaven’s gain as we lay to rest an amazing woman. She will be truly missed by all. Jeanette was born in Omaha Nebraska, August 1936 to the late Harvey and Lillian Jerdon. She had 12 years education and was a homemaker for 54 years until she was placed into nursing home care in 2010. She is most remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, outgoing personality and ability to fill a room with laughter. She had a great love for nature, camping and fishing. Her hobbies included painting, furniture restoration, entertaining friends and family during the holidays and special events, no matter how large or small. She will also best be remembered for her culinary skills and omnipotent ability to please the palette, as anyone who knew her would boast. She was truly a world- class chef! Her love for her family and friends was second to none. Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving husband Fonis Payne (41 years dedicated service to the United States Air Force/Civil Service), daughter Genevieve Bontempo, son Lawrence Payne, brother’s Harvey and Jim Jerdon, sister Geraldine Ivey, granddaughter Aubrey Payne and great-granddaughter Courtney Payne. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Harvey and Sharlene Payne of Moore OK; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Kristi Payne of Limon CO; five granddaughter’s, Tracy McFadden, Jessica Grimes, Jennifer Payne, Tina Payne and Valerie Ramirez; four grandson’s, Chris Payne, Brandon Payne, Thomas Payne and Jason Collette; ten great-grandchildren: John W., Christian, Taylor, Maddy, Shyan, Ayden, Elsie, Logan, Alex and Braelyn; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of St. Anthony’s Hospital, Lakewood CO, for their outstanding, compassionate and loving care of Jeanette and family. Jeanette’s final wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest next to her loving husband Fonis in Burkburnett Cemetery, Burkburnett TX. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Health Foundation, 11600 W. 2nd Pl, Lakewood CO 80228.
