Jeanne Ann Keever

Jeanne Ann Keever passed away at her home in Arvada, Colorado on January 25, 2021, just shy of her 80th birthday. Jeanne was born to Allen and Hazel Phillips and raised in The Dalles, Oregon. Jeanne attended The Dalles High School and went to secretarial school in Boise, Idaho following graduation in 1959. She met Neil Keever in Boise where he was serving in the Air Force. They were married in 1962 and had three children during their twenty-four year marriage, living in Florida, New York and California. When her kids were older, Jeanne worked as a dental assistant and then as a secretary for IBM. Jeanne was most proud of her role in the successful move of IBM offices from South San Jose to the Almaden Research Center in the heart of what became Silicon Valley, CA. She also provided many facials during her time as a Mary Kay Consultant. Jeanne enjoyed entertaining, traveling, and skiing. It was after a six-week ski trip to Sun Valley in 2001 when she survived a near fatal brain injury at home. She worked hard in her rehabilitation, relearning how to eat, talk, and walk and spent her last 15 years in Colorado. Through the years Jeanne enjoyed holidays with her family and had fun reliving fond memories with her high school classmates at their reunions. Jeanne is remembered for her wacky sense of humor, preference for elegance, and infectious smile. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Berna Lee. Jeanne is survived by her children, Natalie (Eddie), Nathan (Lori), and Janell (Rob), her brother Jerry (Joleen), 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Jeanne’s ashes will be laid to rest with her mother and sister in the Dalles, but she specifically requested there be no services. Donations may be sent to The Dalles High School Booster Club.
