Jeanne Delores Murphy

MURPHY Jeanne Age 88 of W. St. Paul, MN Formerly of Maplewood Jeanne Murphy (nee Benesch), born on May 24, 1934, left this earth for heaven on July 1, 2022. She grew up in the Midway area of St. Paul, attended St. Columba grade school and Wilson High School. She was the fifth of seven children born to Joseph and Genevieve Benesch. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Norbert, Bernard and Jim; and sister, Cyrilla Lyman. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Don Murphy; brother, Greg; sister, Mary Jo Mandell (Mike); and sisters-in-law, Aileen Benesch and Maxine Benesch. She leaves behind her four children, Sandy Ostby (John), Mike Murphy (Kristin), Connie Van Kirk (Bill) and Daniel Murphy, as well as thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. In her early years she was employed by Midway and Cherokee Banks in St. Paul and retired from Premiere Bank of Maplewood. Jeanne started long distance running in her forties with family cheering her on in the Twin City and Grandma Marathons. She was a bright light and strong woman of faith, a tireless advocate for the unborn and those with special needs. Visitation Wednesday, July 13, 5-7 at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. Seventh Ave, N. St. Paul and Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, July 14 at 12:00 with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2600 Margaret St N, N. St. Paul. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Pro-Life Action Ministries or charity of choice.
